Head Coach Carter Poe


Carter Poe is in his fourth season as head men's soccer coach at Mount Union.

His three previous seasons have included back-to-back appearances in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time in school history.

Poe spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Purple Raiders before taking over as head coach.

He played college soccer at NCAA Division I Duquesne (Pa.) University where he was team captain in both his junior and senior seasons.

After college, he was a two-year captain playing professionally for AFC Cleveland where he led the team to a 2012 Great Lakes Division conference championship and national quarterfinal.  Poe was also nominated by his peers as Team MVP in 2013.

Poe also has coaching experience with AFC Cleveland and served as the head coach of the team during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.  Notably, in 2016 Poe helped guide the team to the NPSL national championship.

He has also worked for Cleveland Soccer Academy and as a trainer at Force Indoor Sports.  He currently holds an NSCAA Premier Diploma.

A 2008 graduate of West Geauga High School, Poe was a four-year letterwinner, two-time team captain and all-state player.

A native of Chesterland, Ohio, Poe earned his bachelor's degree from Duquesne in 2013 and a master's degree in educational leadership from Mount Union in 2015.
